Syd Merz has just returned from a Peace Corps tour in Armenia.
She has taught English to over 250 school children in the village of Vardenik for the past 27 months. Syd will speak about her experiences, cultural exchanges, and tirps to Egypt, Greece, and Georgia.

National Library Week will be observed April 13-19, 2008 with the theme, "Join the circle of knowledge @ your library®."
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.
"The Plow That broke the Plains" will be shown at 7PM. The film details the 1930s Dust Bowl. Paul Weinert will llead a discussion about the film, following the screening. This event is sponsored by the Richardson County Arts and Humanities Council.
